Locals and visitors gather to celebrate and participate in a variety of wonderful events. If you’re looking to spend quality time with your loved ones, go to one of these events or participate in the activities.

The Christmas Tour of Homes 2017

This popular annual event is hosted by the Garden Club of St. Augustine, which has been hosting the event since 1968. Visitors get to see 7 private homes on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017. The theme this year is “Christmas in the Flagler Era” and the event starts at the Downtown Parking Facility.

You’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see gorgeous homes that date back to the 1800s. You can see the homes on your own from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you’re not comfortable walking, there’ll be a trolley to take you around.

You can enjoy afternoon tea and visit a unique boutique to sample delicious items. The admission fee to The Christmas Tour of Homes is $30 and reservations are necessary.

The concert is all about singing Christmas tunes and melodies that bring Christmas cheer. The principal conductor and music director for The St. Augustine Orchestra Christmas Concert is Maestro Scott Greg.

The Nights of Lights Tours

During the Christmas holidays, St. Augustine is brightened by twinkling lights and hosts the yearly Nights of Lights display. The lights are up from November 18th to January 18th. Residents and visitors get out to enjoy the awesome lights that beautify the ancient city. The display begins at the Plaza de la Constitución and illuminates the city’s entire historic district. There are different ways to experience the Night of Lights: you can wander around on your feet or hop on a boat. Find more information about The Nights of Lights Tours.

The Schooner Freedom Nights of Lights Sails

If you want an experience you’ll never forget, go on this tour. You’ll get to see the city’s fantastic Night of Lights display from the ship Schooner Freedom. The display dates back to the Spanish tradition of putting a white candle on the window during the Christmas holidays. The Schooner Freedom operates daily except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. It makes tours from November 18th to January 6th. Make a reservation for the Nights of Lights Sails or by calling (904) 810-1010.

The Holiday Open House for Charity

This annual open house is meant to benefit K9s for Warriors and will get you into the holiday spirit. The house has 19 wreaths, 26 Christmas trees, light displays, and other holiday decorations. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

With all these events, you have no excuse to stay indoors during the festive season. Go to one—or two—and take your loved ones along.
